Pastor's Desk - The Family

Pastor Ted & Kylie Evans

Have you ever wondered why God places so much importance on family? Why is it that He is seemingly so set on valuing what we call the family unit? Why is it that throughout the Old and New Testament God used families and placed importance on describing families. The lineage of Jesus typifies this by recounting from the beginning of human life right through to Jesus the importance of family. He goes further than that, if you think about it, when He describes His own trinity relationship - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Family began with God and at it's best, remains in God. As Christians, we have this saving knowledge of being part of the family of God - we are never alone and we are never an only child. We are sons and daughters of the living God! For those who are yet to become part of the family of God, there is this hope - no matter what situation you are in or what situation you have come from, you have a place in God's family. A place has been set for you at the dining table with God the Father. If you are an orphan, you can be adopted into the family. If you are an only child, you can have siblings in Christ. If you were abandoned, you can be found in the loving arms of Jesus. If you were abused, your heart will be safe in the hands of God. If everything around you once crashed and fell apart, you can find hope and joy and peace in the knowledge that God knows the plans that He has for you and they are plans for a hope and a future!
The family of God is the best family to belong to and you can be part of this family too! We'd like to welcome you to the family!
